Billy joined Byland as a graduate geotechnical engineer in August 2019 after achieving a degree in MEng Civil & Structural Engineering from Newcastle University.  He also completed a Summer placement at Byland.  He is now training to become a Chartered Civil Engineer and has just returned from a 12-month secondment with Cementation Skanska where he worked as a Project Engineer on the HS2 Main Works to Euston Approaches Piling Project. 

To date Billy has been involved in a variety of projects including contiguous piled wall design, platform design, king post wall  and a micropiled reinforced concrete slab.   He is competent in the use of AutoCAD and other geotechnical software including Oasys suite, WALLAP, Talren and Plaxis 2D and 3D.
